What exactly does the English editing and proofreading involve?
The editing involves the correction of all language mistakes. We will correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. We will also improve your written English. While content will never be altered, structure and vocabulary will be improved to give your work better flow and make it concise and coherent. Changes and comments will be made inside the document using the Track Changes function of Microsoft Word (download our guide to Track Changes). On completion of your edit, you will receive two versions of your document: One will have all changes made and accepted and one will show all Markup which you will be able to accept or reject as you please. The editing is comprehensive and easy to adopt.
Will my document(s) be edited in U.K. or U.S. English?
The choice is yours. We have Native English Editors from both the U.S and the U.K as well as other parts of the English-speaking world. Our Editors are experienced in editing in either English variation. Be sure to choose which variation you prefer or require when uploading your document(s).
What file formats are suitable for submission?
We can accept a wide range of files that are compatible with Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. The most common formats are: .docx .doc .dotm .dotx .htm .html .odt .rtf .txt. xml .xlsx .xls .xltm .pptx .pptm. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding file formats/extensions.
Will my document(s) be edited over weekends and public holidays?
Absolutely. Your document(s) will be edited and returned to you before the deadline no matter if it spans a weekend or public holiday. In our experience, projects are returned well before the deadline.
What is the rate per word?
The rates per word differ depending on how soon you would like to receive your edited document. Editing in 10 days costs €0.018/word, editing in 7 days costs €0.022/word, editing in 3 days costs €0.026/word and editing in 24 hours costs €0.030/word. The price is calculated using the word count on your original document. The prices quoted on the Price Check and Submission forms are final and include all relevant taxes. For customers in The Netherlands who are not students, btw will be charged at the rate in place at the time of placing the order.
How do I upload and submit my document(s)?
Uploading and submitting your document(s) is easy, safe and secure. Just follow the links to the Secure Upload Page and follow the instructions. Your document(s) will reach us via an SSL encrypted connection, ensuring total confidentiality and security. You can upload multiple documents. Be sure to include a word count that comprises all documents.
How and when will I receive my edited work?
You will receive your edited text(s) via email. You will receive 2 versions or your text(s): One will have had the changes the editor made accepted in Track Changes and will be ready for you to submit, publish or present, the other will show all the editing and will allow you to accept or reject each individual change. You will receive your edited text(s) before the deadline. The deadline will be communicated to you immediately after payment is received. In our experience, texts are returned well before the expiration of the deadline.

No proprietory information can be used for any purpose other than for the editing project. All client information and files are kept strictly confidential under the highest encryption standards available. Your personal information is never sold, rented, given away, or traded to anyone or any company. We are editors, not information dealers. Unlike some other language editing sites, we will never pursue you for access to your work. We will edit your work, return it and remove all associated files from our systems within 3 months.

Track Changes is the function in Microsoft Word that allows changes to be made to a text that can be tracked and accepted or rejected. It also means that your editor can make comments and suggestions within your document regarding improvements to structure and flow.
